Intelligence ships, submarines and reconnaissance aircraft gathered vital information about their adversaries, often operating in dangerous waters where a single mistake could trigger an international crisis. One of the most remarkable examples of this shadow war is the story of the USS Pueblo (AGER-2), the only commissioned United States Navy vessel still held captive by a foreign nation.
